CSO C.A.R.E.S. for Saving is a financial literacy and savings promotion program.  CSO C.A.R.E.S. for Saving will help eligible,low-income households learn to save more effectively for home heating costs during the winter months.  Successful program participants will be able to receive a dollar for dollar match of their savings.

The VITA program helps area residents claim the Earned Income Tax Credit and other tax credits.  This program also helps filers avoid costly filing fees and rapid refund loans.  During the 2010 tax season the VITA program provided free tax preparation to 511 low to moderate income households.  With the support of the M&T Charitable Foundation the VITA program will be able to continue providing this valuable service.
